Formulate, design and implement strategies to monitor the activities and operations of Prestige MFB.
Ensure compliance with established regulatory requirements, policies and procedures
Provide overall leadership and direction to the Internal Audit team
Ensure Compliance Culture in the branch that aligns with the control and business objectives of the Bank
Build strong KYC and KYC (B) compliance environment in the bank/ business units.
Ensure integrity of the transactions and GL accounts in the branch through daily review of the branches GL balance reports and other relevant ad-hoc and standard reports
Ensure that open items in the branch GL accounts are current and reflect the true nature of the products recorded therein. Any major deviation from the standard must be escalated following the appropriate escalation procedure
Ensure capturing of all KYC documentation into all customers’ accounts in the Core Banking Applications through the regular review of Account opening and documentation both on the file and on the system.
Daily Independent Call Over of all qualifying Transactions within 24 hours of posting and where practicable online same day and as may be advised to you from time to time
Daily Review of all System Generated Override Message/Exception Reports to ensure that appropriate approvals were obtained for it and that they are valid transactions
Daily Serial review for all Numbered forms (e.g. MC, Deal slip, Draft, Form “M”, Form “A”, to ensure completeness and proper posting/funding of all cheques issued
Carry out other verifications as outlined in the Independent Verification Proof Chart of Internal Control for your office.
Outward and Inward Clearing review
Fraud and Operational Losses within the prescribed loss tolerance limit
Quality and Timeliness of losses and loss events reporting in branches in the cluster
Magnitude of potential loss figures on branches GL accounts in the cluster.
Overall Internal Audit rating of Internal Control branches in your zone.
Level and timing of usage of Control Exception Manager to record exceptions observed by branch controllers in your cluster
Integrity of the GL accounts in branches in your cluster.
Promptness, Accuracy and Validity of Exception Reporting//Rendition of all Control Activity Reports
Exceptions observed in peer review, control adequacy checks and other internal control quality assurance checks administered on your cluster
Gaps between the prescribed TAT (Turn Around Time) and actual service delivery period.
Proficiency level on the bank core banking application Proficiency level on.
Safe guarding the bank asset.
Any other job that may be assigned by the Bank.

Technical Skills

Expert knowledge of fraud behaviour and detection methodologies
Superior understanding of fraud detection processes for banking services industry
Superior understanding of federal regulations related to fraud
Demonstrated superior understanding of operational dynamics
Sound understanding of fraud type trends, operational impact on fraud losses and risk management tools and performance

Soft Skills

Excellent communication (written and oral), interpersonal and negotiation skills
High level of integrity and demonstrated ability to manage confidential information
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Strong leadership, supervisory and people management skills
Good sense of responsibility, accountability and dependability

Qualifications

B.Sc. in Accounting or B.Sc. in Economics or HND in Banking and Finance or their equivalent
Possession of MCP or any other professional certificate as well as Computer Literacy would be an advantage.
Age Limit: Must be within the age of 35 and above.
Years of Experience Needed: At least five (5) years’ experience on a similar position.

Personality:

Must be proven of integrity and visibly competent
Previous work experience in the Banking sector or similar organizations will be an advantage.
