Serie A giants Inter Milan have been relatively busy in the transfer market already ahead of the new campaign.
The Milan based team have brought in six names already – including the likes of Mehdi Taremi, Piotr Zielinski and Davide Frattesi.
And it seems that they’re in the market for more signings.
Specifically in the defensive part of their squad.
Up until this point, Netherlands right-back Denzel Dumfries has only a short time left on his contract.
Observers have been wondering if the player will stay or if he will leave.
Either way, it makes sense that Inter would have a succession plan in case he was to go.
One of those plans apparently included signing a defender from Manchester United.
And new reports from Italy seem to indicate that they no longer are looking in that direction. In fact, Inter Milan have reportedly rejected an opportunity to sign the player.
According to the printed version of today’s La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter have actually now reached an agreement for a contract extension for Dumfries.
Due to that, Inter have made it clear that they do not want to sign Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka after being offered to him.
Wan-Bissaka is set to leave the club this summer, with it now seemingly the case that he’ll likely end up at West Ham United.
Not only have La Gazzetta made this clear, but today’s Corriere dello Sport also report that an agreement has been reached between Dumfries and Inter Milan.
According to that paper, Inter were not interested in any proposition for Wan-Bissaka.
Instead, they were more interested in Monaco’s Vanderson, who they thought would fit the club better.
So it seems that any move to Serie A for Wan-Bissaka will not happen. At the very least, it will not happen at Inter Milan.
