Job Purpose

 

This IMFS Supervisor position allows you to lead, coordinate, and be responsible for all IFMS-related activities as well as the operation of all Utility Systems such as steam supply, compressed air supply, water supply, air conditioning, and electrical supply. This ensures that all of these activities are implemented to meet the factory’s dynamically changing requirements and are optimised to achieve continuous cost and quality improvement for the best and continuous support to the core business.

Your ‘day to day’

  • Define, review, and update the contract scope, terms and conditions, and critical metrics of all IFMS activities on a regular basis in accordance with the factory’s dynamically changing requirements.
  • Oversee and optimise IFMS activities and personnel to achieve continuous cost and quality improvement through the establishment and close monitoring of critical metrics.
  • Lead sustainability projects and develop relevant business cases to reduce energy consumption, water consumption, carbon footprint, and increase green energy in accordance with global PMI requirements and the Zero loss journey.
  • Define and recommend the departmental budget, and keep close control of all expenses to ensure that budgetary decisions are followed and financial practises are consistent with overall PM policies.
  • Collaborate closely with the Purchasing Department to select and allocate the best resources at the lowest possible cost for IFMS activities.
  • Define the strategy and plan the execution to ensure that the facility has the appropriate utility-related equipment in relation to the business needs. Ensure that all IFMS-related activities are carried out in accordance with relevant South African legislation and Philip Morris South Africa EHS Policy & Procedures. Lead the team in achieving the annual goals set during the annual performance evaluation process (MAP).
  • Build and maintain a contingency plan to ensure production continuity in the event of a conflict with the existing IFMS Contractor.

Who we’re looking for

  • Degree or National Diploma in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical)
  • At least 5 years of working experience in the Engineering department, industrial environment, and/or facility management/utility operation within manufacturing
  • Minimum of 3 years of team management
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in contractor coordination is advantageous
  • GCC Factories/ Certified in Energy Manager / Certified in Energy Manager Business will be preferred

Other Critical Competencies:

  • Ability to assign projects to the team and supervise execution, including analysis and summary conclusions
  • Strong eye for business with the ability to deliver department strategies and autonomously align team objectives
  • Ensure that department strategies are implemented with minimal guidance and propose improvements to existing processes.
  • Capable of dealing with highly complex and innovative processes (Contracts & Projects) without supervision
  • Solid Engineering experience
  • Strong leadership and staff development capabilities
