Check out these awesome stills of the already beautiful work in progress
You could debate that it was Chun-Li or Spencer that most haunted your dreams after seeing the Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite’s infamous initial trailer, but for our money it was Dante’s glaring, lifeless eyes that popped up most in our nightmares.
As we close in on Infinite’s seventh anniversary (the game released September 19, 2017) a team of passionate Marvel vs. Capcom fans are remaking Infinite into Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite & Beyond
The main developer behind Beyond’s visuals goes by the name Ryn, and she’s undertaken the unenviable task of making all of Infinite’s characters look good. Ryn and her team have updated Infinite with a graphical overhaul that gives the experience much more comic book feel, but expressed back in May how taking on Dante was particularly daunting.
Thankfully she was not deterred, and has since posted a handful of work in progress images of Dante and other characters as the project comes along.
We’ve rounded up a gallery of these screen shots to share with you while we eagerly await the eventual release of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite & Beyond. The first few feature Dante in close ups, medium shots, and from the standard gameplay camera view.
You’ll also find shots of a handful of other characters, including an improved Chun-Li, and awesome Nemesis, and a cool 4-part evolution of Ryu. As the Ryu image suggests, these are all very much work in progress shots and may not represent Infinite & Beyond’s final look when it releases.
Check out the gallery below, share your thoughts on the improvements, and let us know how hype you are for the new Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite in the comments afterwards.
