The news of the new Caretaker Committee Chairman for Calabar South Local Government Area Chief Asuquo Asuquo (Sabata) greeted the people who received and endorsed his person in all spheres of administration as a superlative and pragmatic leader.
Most commendable is his indepth knowledge and strategic security intelligence of the Local Government that can further reduce security challenge of the Local Government.
Reacting while accepting His Excellency Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade nomination of Chief Asuquo is a renown leader in the Local Government Mr Cyril Anthony(Etete), he applauded the Governor for making the decision to bring in an astute leader who holds will balance economic development and security in the Local Government Area.

However, Mr Cyril Anthony who led who was saddled with the responsibility of speaking for Constituency II on their grievances about some purported move by top members of Constituency I to influence the selection of the Secretary of the Caretaker Committee which is supposed by be reserved exclusively for Constituency II originally by the arrangements of even distribution.
The group who have been agitating made their intent clear, that for a peaceful coexistence, there must be an even distribution of responsibility and portfolio.
They explained that these even distribution has help calm political tension in time past where if one constituency produces Chairman, the other produces the Vice Chairman and Secretary.
The group lamented that it would be totally unfair for a local government as Calabar South with Constituency II with the largest landmark and population to be relegated in appointment of responsibility.
They further called on the Governor Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade to intervene so peace could be given a place in their political structures to avoid a total disarray and collapse of these structures.
