IGN Fan Fest 2024 live stream to feature 'exclusive gameplay and exciting news' for Street Fighter 6, live now

The major Capcom Cup X event is currently underway and drawing ever closer to its Sunday finals. Despite this being a massive show for Street Fighter 6, its competitors, and its fans, Capcom prefaced the event by telling fans outright that we won’t be seeing any big announcements for the game during the show.

However, Street Fighter 6 appears to be a part of IGN’s Fan Fest 2024 showcase, and from the sounds of it we could be getting something new about the game during this presentation. IGN has let fans know that they have “exclusive gameplay and exciting news” that they’ll be showing off today.

“If you can’t stop playing Street Fighter 6, you won’t want to miss #IGNFanFest this Friday, February 23,” wrote the official IGN Twitter page. “We’ve got exclusive gameplay and exciting news from the team behind the game.”

Digging further into Fan Fest to see what this news might entail, we learned that both the game’s Director, Takayuki Nakayama, and Producer, Shuhei Matsumoto, will be making an appearance during the broadcast to discuss Street Fighter 6 with the publication.

In terms of what exactly we can expect to see, here is IGN’s description of the Street Fighter 6 segment: “A brand-new look at Street Fighter 6 along with a conversation featuring the game’s Director Takayuki Nakayama and Producer Shuhei Matsumoto.”

According to the Fan Fest 2024 schedule, the Street Fighter 6 portion of the show is set to take place within the first hour after the broadcast officially kicks off. Today’s Fan Fest action is set to begin at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET.

With Capcom having already shown off Ed, the game’s next DLC character, via a gameplay trailer and lots of information on him, it is a wonder what IGN will be bringing to the table here. At least, we hope we’ll learn more about the game’s first balance update.
