iDom hilariously explains Luke flowchart while using it to win in Street Fighter 6; gets called out by MenaRD

Street Fighter X recently saw an interesting interaction between two Capcom Cup champions as XSET|iDom put on display just how easy it is to win with Luke, Street Fighter 6’s least-disputed top character.

As a Manon player (an easy pick for SF6’s lower tiers) iDom lives in a more or less perpetual Luke frustration as the fighter is as prominent as he is powerful. A lot of said frustration stems from the fact that Luke is arguably relatively easy to use on top of being so efficient, and iDom set out to prove that in real time during a recent stream session.

iDom’s stream chat linked him to a “Luke spreadsheet,” an online resource for those learning the character. Upon seeing this the 2019 Capcom Cup champ quickly remarked, “I don’t need all this. I got a whole Google doc on how to play Luke; I can shrink that doc into like, two sentences.”

From there he joined into a ranked match while playing Luke to show what he meant.

“You want the Luke bread and butter? You walk up, crouch medium kick, combo, corner carry,” he starts while doing in game exactly what he’s describing as he’s describing it, “and then you just throw loop em’.”

The timing of all this is fairly spot-on and, paired with the fact that most all of us who have played more than an hour of Street Fighter 6 online can very much relate to being on the business end of this exact Luke flowchart sequence makes it all quite comical.

iDom caps the round off with a wry “It’s that simple… I’m basically Mena,” referring to the fact that two time Capcom Cup champion, Bandits|MenaRD, has seen a ton of competitive success with Luke here in Street Fighter 6’s first year.

With what may or may not be a bit of a tongue in cheek response, Mena re-posted the clip with a message to iDom, “Bro . Don’t make me really pick Manon and expose yo ass tho, easy ass character.”

While we don’t doubt that a player as skilled as Mena could very well make Manon look easy (at least when he’s matched up against Diamond-ranked online opposition, as iDom was with Luke in the example here) we’re hesitant to accept the idea that she’s easy to win with in a comparable manner to Luke, if that’s at all what’s being implied by the 2X CapCup champ.

If the latter is true, we’d be extremely interested to see the substance behind Mena’s argument. What do you think, though? Is Mena simply and playfully jabbing at his fellow Cup winner, or is there more to Manon than most of us have figured out yet?
