ICT Support Manager – JHB North at St Stithians College

Requirements:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

To aid and support the Head of ICT in the running of the department and take the lead in
various projects, to provide support to the onsite team with regards to ICT related matters/queries.
To be responsible for coordinating, planning, and leading computer-related activities in an organization.
To provide assistance and query resolution to all computer system users in the College through the provision of a helpdesk and support function.
To personally provide direct support in respect of the various applications the College uses, and to direct and oversee the provision of support by other specialists in the department or the ICT service provider

The requirements of the position:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
5 + years’ experience in providing support of the nature detailed in this role to a user base of 300 – 500 staff and over 2000 students
5 + years managing a team of 5 onsite engineers and liaising with senior/backoffice team
5 + year managing external vendors and SLA requirements
5 + years of experience working in IT operations
Experience on a helpdesk and managing a help-desk would be a distinct advantage
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Office and associated applications along with basic networking, PC maintenance and architecture experience
Basic financial management (accounts administration) experience
Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies
Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems
Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize
Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices
Organisational and time management skills to meet weekly and monthly deadlines is critical
Ability to multitask, work under pressure and independently – deadlines are a priority and accuracy is a must
Experience in handling challenging situations, assertively and diplomatically
A sound work ethic and the ability to use initiative
Strong communication and inter-personal skills
Proven logical and analytical, problem-solving and design skills
A willingness to work within the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College and to participate in the broader life of the school
Any staff member working within a school is required to have a sexual offender’s clearance certificate
