I was shocked to win AMVCA – BBNaija’s Beauty Tukura

    June 1, 20232 Mins Read

Former Big Brother Naija, BBN, reality star, Beauty Tukura, has revealed that she was stunned after she was announced as the ‘Best Dressed Female’ at the 9th African Magic Viewers Choice Awards, AMVCA event.

Tukura said she didn’t anticipate that she would be handed a plaque, adding that she initially thought she would be given a cash award of N500,000.

The former beauty queen revealed this on a podcast recently.

She said, “I think Nigerians don’t really know how to appreciate realness. I don’t know how to explain it. The truth is, I’m just getting into the industry now. I have never attended an AMVCA before… This is me not even knowing that there was a proper physical plaque or anything like that. I don’t know. The only thing I heard was that they give N500k.

“I was thinking it’s a N500k thing and next thing, they are calling my name to come and collect an award. I was even bending, I was trying to hide. It was Tobi Bakre; he was in front of me. He said, ‘what are you doing? Stand up and go and walk on that stage.’

“Then I started walking. If you noticed, it was so awkward for me. I was walking, I was running. I didn’t know what to do…It came to me as a shock.”
