The Member representing Orumba North Constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon Emeka Aforka, has said that he made the member of the House of Representative, representing Orumba North/South Federal Constituency, Honourable Okwudili Ezenwankwo who he is in the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, in Anambra state.

Aforka was speaking while addressing members of the party at his country home, Ndiowu, in Orumba North local government area of the state when he recently hosted one of the leading gubernatorial aspirants under APGA, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo and his campaign team.

He alleged that the 2019 election that produced Hon. Okwudili Ezenwankwo who is also contesting the November 6 2021 governorship election under the party’s  platform, was a product of intimidation and harassment.

Aforka confidently told Prof. Soludo, his campaign team and other members of the party who were present at event that without him and his boys, Okwudili Ezenwankwo, wouldn’t have won the National Assembly seat.

“I am the one who brought him into APGA in 2015. I taught him politics of Orumba North/South, work for him with my supporters to ensure he won the election. He was still a trader at Onitsha market when Mr Peter Obi, first appointed me the Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba North local government area in 2008.”

“Hon. Ezenwankwo was begging when he came to me in early 2015 to recognize and registered him as a member of APGA, but today he is campaigning against me, telling my constituents that he sponsored my State House of Assembly election with millions of naira.

Aforka, who is also the Deputy Majority Leader in the State Assembly, revealed further that since Ezenwankwo was elected to represent Orumba people at the National Legislative House, he has not attracted any meaningful project to the area.

“What he knows doing, is to be causing confusion among communities in the area for selfish political reasons.”

He urged his supporters including delegates for the party primaries in the area to support Soludo during primaries and the election proper.

In his brief remarks, the Acting Chairman of APGA in Orumba North LGA, Pharmacist Alphonsus Muogbo, assured Prof. Soludo that the party in Orumba North will ensure he emerged as the governorship candidate of APGA, come June 23, 2021.

He urged other APGA aspirants to step down and queue behind Soludo’s candidacy.

Soludo, who was shocked at the revelation, urged the two lawmakers to settle their differences before the election, to enable the party retain the state.

Dignitaries who were present at the event include Special Adviser to governor Willie Obiano on Political Matters, Chief Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, State Commissioner for Utilities and Water Resources, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne, the member representing Anambra East/West Federal Constituency, Honourable Chinedu Obidigwe, the Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba North, Mrs. Ify Obinabo, Honourable Patrick Udoba and other party supporters.
