The Cross River State Commissioner for Environment, Hon Mfon Bassey has identified human resource development as a panacea for effective service delivery.
Hon. Bassey made this assertion in an interview shortly after a training workshop organized by the Ministry of Environment held at the conference room of the Ministry.
The Commissioner said the idea of organizing a workshop for staff was borne out the yearning desire to re-train and re-orient staff for optimum productivity in the service.
He said from his interactions with some of the staff, the training became imperative so as to keep them abreast of global trends in the environment and other sectors of the State economy.
Hon. Bassey charged participants to make the most of the time to better their lots,adding that the knowledge gained if put into practice service delivery is eminent.
The Environment Commissioner said the Governor Ben Ayade -led administration is committed to human resource development, stating that when the human is developed, growth is inevitably possible, adding that the workshop will be a continuous one.
The workshop which was anchored by BEWAM Investments Limited with Barr Emmanuel Enamhe as the Lead Facilitator had topics treated from Ethics of the Civil Service , Code of Conduct for Civil Servants and Tribunal and Security Management, amongst others.
Participants in their separate contributions spoke in glowing terms of the Commissioner while praying for more of such opportunities in order to refresh their memories.
