Job Overview:
The HR Manager at Waterside Lounge Restaurant and Bar is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes. This includes managing recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and ensuring compliance with labor laws. The HR Manager will play a critical role in shaping the company culture, supporting the restaurant’s growth, and ensuring that the staff provides an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Staffing:
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent for various positions within the restaurant and bar.
- Oversee the hiring process, including job postings, interviews, reference checks, and onboarding.
- Collaborate with department managers to identify staffing needs and ensure timely placement of staff.

Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary issues.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by promoting employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Mediate conflicts and provide guidance to both employees and management on HR-related matters.

Performance Management:
- Develop and manage performance evaluation processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback sessions.
- Work with managers to address performance issues and implement improvement plans.
- Recognize and reward high-performing employees to maintain motivation and retention.

Training and Development:
- Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Coordinate orientation and ongoing training sessions for new and existing employees.
- Support career development initiatives to help employees grow within the organization.

Compliance and HR Policies:
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations.
- Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures in line with company goals and legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.

Compensation and Benefits:
- Administer employee compensation, benefits, and payroll processes.
- Conduct market research to ensure competitive salary and benefits packages.
- Address employee inquiries related to compensation, benefits, and other HR-related matters.

Health and Safety:
- Promote a safe and healthy work environment by implementing safety programs and conducting regular inspections.
- Manage workplace injuries and workers’ compensation claims.

HR Strategy and Planning:
- Contribute to the development of the overall HR strategy to support the restaurant’s growth and operational goals.
- Provide HR insights and data to support business decisions.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of HR management experience, preferably in the hospitality or food and beverage industry.
- Certifications: HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred but not required.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of HR practices, labor laws, and compliance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Working Conditions:
- Schedule: May require occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work, depending on staffing needs.
- Environment: Fast-paced restaurant and bar environment.
