So, they really put their backs into it. It was Sean’s second priority in 2015, right after going all in. Those early days? They were a whirlwind of secret weekends away, planning their TV wedding. “Everything was so exciting,” Sean reminisces.
They were head over heels in love. Couldn’t even fathom the idea of hitting a rough patch. But that innocence? It didn’t last long. Reality set in pretty fast.
In the real world, they had to grapple with each other’s quirks. Catherine had to deal with homesickness, made worse by Sean’s long DWTS rehearsals. “Your relationship is bound to face issues, big and small,” Sean admits. “You gotta find a way to work through them.”
And if you do? You’ll come out stronger. Sean looks at their marriage now and he’s amazed. “We’ve grown so much since those first few months,” he says.
Catherine agrees. She told Entertainment Tonight that their first year of marriage was tough. But, she adds, “once you go through those hardships, you grow. You understand each other better. You understand what you need better.”
