The Brit was the heavy favourite but lost his titles to the Ukrainian on a humiliating night.

However, he is unlikely to be surprised by Usyk this time, so we should be in for a cracking fight in Saudi Arabia.

The Saudis are determined to invest money into sports as a way of generating income and have ploughed cash into golf, while their Public Investment Fund have a majority stake in Newcastle United.

And they have paid a lot of money to host this fight in Jeddah.

But how much has this clash actually cost? talkSPORT.com decided to investigate…

Joshua v Usyk 2: How much have Saudi Arabia paid?

It has been reported that Saudi Arabia have forked out £65.4million to host Joshua v Usyk 2 ahead of other competitors.

This also surpasses the fee the country paid for Joshua v Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019.

Saudi Arabia’s attentions will then turn to securing the rights for whoever Joshua or Usyk decide to fight next.

If they win those rights, expect them to pay out even more than they have for this clash.

Joshua vs Usyk 2: Date and how to follow

This fight is being billed as the Rage on the Red Sea and is on Saturday, August 20.

It will be held in the indoor arena at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Ring walks are expected around 10.30pm with promoters Matchroom confirming the estimated main event start time is 10:54pm in the UK, which is gone midnight local time.

talkSPORT will broadcast the highly-anticipated rematch exclusively live and free to air from Saudi Arabia.
