Love is love, right? Just ask some of the most well-known queer couples. With Valentine’s Day around the corner, we’re taking a moment to appreciate the most heartwarming LGBTQIA+ love stories in Hollywood.
Think about long-term couples like Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka. Or Elton John and David Furnish. They’ve been together for ages, haven’t they?
But it’s not just about the old guard. There are fresh romances blooming too. Like Kristen Stewart and Dylan Meyer. Or Ben Platt and Noah Galvin. It’s clear as day that these stars have found their other halves.
Take Niecy Nash Betts, for example. She announced her marriage to Jessica Betts in August 2020. And boy, did she have something to say about love and attraction.
For Nash Betts, and many others who identify as LGBTQIA+, love isn’t about gender identity. Nope, it’s about something much deeper. “My marriage has absolutely nothing to do with gender and it has everything to do with her soul,” she said.
She was talking to People at the time. She’s been married before, to Don Nash and Jay Tucker. But this time, it’s different. “She is the most beautiful soul I have ever met in my life,” she said about her wife.
And that, my friends, is what love is all about.
