We recently took notice of Hidori Rose on Instagram. It turns out that she’s cosplayed as Cammy White from the Street Fighter series a couple of times.
Cammy made her debut video game appearance in Super Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers alongside Dee Jay, T. Hawk, and Fei Long back when that game was released at the arcades in 1993. Evidently, Cammy has become the most popular of these new challengers since she was the only one to appear all throughout Street Fighter 4, Street Fighter 5, and Street Fighter 6.
In Street Fighter 5, Cammy’s appearance only changed a little bit compared to how she looked in Street Fighter 2 and Street Fighter 4. Notably, she still retains the green thong leotard, the red beret, red gauntlets, and black boots parts of her outfit.
It’s said that Cammy’s preference for the thong leotard is due to the optimal speed, mobility, and flexibility that it allows her. Though Cammy tends to be one of the faster rush down characters in the Street Fighter 6 series, her playstyle has remained relatively the same in Street Fighter 6 despite trading in the thong leotard for black yoga pants in Street Fighter 6.
Regardless, one of the major differences between Street Fighter 5’s Cammy and how she appears in Street Fighter 2 is the absence of camouflage paint. Normally, she has stripes of paint plastered on her legs, but doesn’t for some reason in Street Fighter 5.
Instead, she has a gun holster wrapped around her right thigh. Despite this, she never actually draws a weapon during gameplay as she’s considered to be purely a rush down archetype.
However, it’s worth noting that the presence of her gun holster and harnesses are based on one her earlier designs before the developers settled on how she looks in Street Fighter 2.
Hidori Rose’s Cammy cosplay is based on how the character appears in Street Fighter 5. On her Instagram, she posted several shots of herself featuring all the best angles. Check it out below:
