Tekken 8 is set to undergo server maintenance very soon. We now have the details on when we can expect the game’s online features to become inaccessible, and when everything is coming back online.
With the in-game Tekken Shop having been added to the game just a couple of weeks ago, tonight’s maintenance is being performed in order to make way for new items being added to the shop. Along with those items, we will be seeing the next set of classic Tekken costumes become available for purchase.
With the initial implementation of Tekken Shop, four classic costumes from past Tekken games were added for fans to purchase. We saw past looks for Kazuya, Jin, Xiaoyu, and Jun become available, and after tonight’s server maintenance we’ll be seeing four more.
The official Japanese Tekken Twitter account already gave us a glimpse at what these next costumes will be a little ways back. This time around, Law, Hwoarang, Nina, and King will be getting their own set of retro duds, and there will be four new avatar costumes added to the shop as well.
While the tweet containing details about the server maintenance was put out in Japanese, through Google Translate we learn the details we need to know about this period.
The Tekken 8 servers will go down for maintenance at 11 a.m. JST on March 14, and they’ll be coming back online around 4 p.m. JST. That should translate to a start time of tonight, March 13, at 7 p.m. PT until 12 a.m. PT on March 14.

So far, prices and conduct within the Tekken Shop have been mostly fine — especially seeing some of the practices the other AAA fighting game titles on the market have been using as of late. A single classic costume will run you 400 Tekken Coins, and thankfully, the lowest possible bundle you can purchase gets you 500 Tekken Coins for $4.99 USD, meaning you can purchase a single costume with the cheapest available Tekken Coins bundle.
It is likely that the next batch of classic Tekken costumes will see similar pricing as the initial four, though we’ll have to wait until they’re live to be sure.
