It appears that Bandai Namco has given a handful of folks the opportunity to try out a new build of Tekken 8 that looks like it’s close to the final version of the game. New footage of various modes and characters we haven’t seen yet is hitting the internet this morning, and there are some really interesting things to check out ahead of the game’s upcoming demo — which also just got announced today.
Longtime player and commentator Rip managed to get time in with Tekken 8 recently and took a closer look at the alternate costumes and colors each fighter comes equipped with. There are 14 characters we haven’t had the opportunity to play yet via the various beta tests and public demos, and today Rip has shared footage of all of these fighters’ alternate costumes.
The list of characters who we haven’t seen in a full capacity just yet consist of Alisa, Devil Jin, Dragunov, Kuma, Lee, Leo, Panda, Raven, Reina, Shaheen, Steve, Victor, Yoshimitsu, and Zafina.
From the looks of it, each contender has three different costumes to choose from, with the default also having an extra color as well.
A character like Yoshimitsu has his updated design for Tekken 8 as his default, with slot 2 having a different color for this look. His first alternate costume (slot 3) makes him look more like a fiery deity, while slot 4 returns Yoshi back to his Tekken 7 appearance.
This seems to be the formula for each fighter’s costumes. The first two slots are reserved for their updated Tekken 8 design, slot 3 features a new costume that’s a bit more on the elaborate and playful side, and slot 4 includes their classic look.
The brand new characters, like Reina and Victor, obviously do not have a classic look as Tekken 8 is their debut title. Instead, they just see another new outfit for them to wear with slot 4, though both Reina and Victor’s do seem to follow a more casual theme.

Tekken 8 will see a new demo go live on December 14 for PlayStation 5 users. Xbox Series X|S and Steam users will get their chance to play it on December 21.
It won’t be too much longer of a wait for those who want to play the launch version of the game as Tekken 8 is slated for release on January 26, 2024.
