Though there are currently only 23 characters in Street Fighter 6, each one of them is armed with a unique set of pressure tools. However, Street Fighter 6 is the type of fighting game that rewards players for spending time in the training room against these pressure tools.
Chris_F recently released a video that covers how to counter eight “fake pressure” sequences that tend to be fairly common in Street Fighter 6. With these concepts, you should be able to make opponents think twice about using these setups.
In the corner, Rashid effectively has a three-way mix up with his heavy Arabian Cyclone against cornered opponents. However, it turns out that the overhead comes out slightly before the throw or low can. With this in mind, the player only needs to practice their fuzzy guards to deal with this.
Jamie players like to use standing heavy punch in defensive positions when opponents are chaining light punches. Due to its awkward hurtbox, Jamie can actually stuff out a lot of lights like this. For most characters, the best way to deal with this is to simply chain into a 5-frame normal with a little more reach.
Lily users have a tendency to mix up using the light, medium, and heavy versions of Condor Wind when cancelling from crouching heavy punch. In particular, the less committal light version exists to make opponents second guess themselves when they want to try to use the Drive Parry or Drive Impact to counter the medium and heavy versions of the special.
As noted by Chris_F, it’s actually possible to perform a Drive Parry and then press forward with careful timing to counter all three options. Against the light Condor Wind, your character will Drive Rush forward for a raw punish. Against the medium and heavy versions, you should ideally be able to pull off a Perfect Drive Parry.
