Pokkén Tournament is typically seen as a spinoff of Tekken, except with Pokémon filling out its roster. That description doesn’t exactly tell the whole story for Pokkén Tournament, but it’s not entirely inaccurate either.
Regardless, every game from the Tekken series and Pokkén Tournament were both developed by Bandai Namco, so the existence of the similarities do make sense. With this in mind, it’s not too surprising to hear that many moves that appear in Tekken have also made their way into the Pokémon spinoff. As such, Hi! Buff Gigas Please? has recently released a couple of videos that highlight moves that appear in both series.
The YouTube content creator was able to discover a whopping 109 moves that carry over from Tekken into Pokkén Tournament. The first video showcases 72 moves while the second has 37 movies highlighted.
As an example, Pikachu’s fighting style in Pokkén Tournament bears many similarities to that of Heihachi’s. It might sound a bit ridiculous, but Pikachu is able to perform the iconic Electric Wind God Fist, just like Heihachi.
A lot of Devil Kazuya and Devil Jin’s attacks revolve around the fact that these two are winged and are able to fly. Because of this, it makes perfect sense for Charizard to emulate them. Of course, this means that Charizard will have to use his ability to spew fire out of his breath as a replacement for any variations of the Devil Blaster (laser).
