Herdsmen destroy farmlands in Oyo shortly after the Southern Governor’s meeting

Fulani Herdsmen have allegedly destroyed farmlands in Oyo State worth billions of naira with their open grazing.

This is coming shortly after the Governors in the southern region of the country met to discuss the state of the nation – in which banning of open grazing was one of them.

On Monday, a farmer identified only as Mr Nkalari said his plantain and oil palm plantations of millions of naira were destroyed.

“I am typing this with a heavy heart. I just got a devastating news from my farmworkers at Oyo State that Fulani herdsmen just destroyed my Three Acres of Plantain and Oil Palm Plantation. Millions of Naira investment just gone like that?”, the farmer shared the sad news on Twitter with the handle @MrNkalari

Tweeting further, the farmer said this kind of situation where the government support others to destroy another’s business and form of livelihood is discouraging.

“Investors and farmers are discouraged…”, he added.
