HELP ME! Wife of ex-Rivers HoS cries out over husband’s whereabouts after interview, claims against Fubara (Video)

Florence Nwaeke, the wife of Dr. George Nwaeke, the former Head of the Rivers State Civil Service, has expressed deep concerns over the safety of her husband following a controversial interview in which he accused suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara of orchestrating the 2023 bombing of the State House of Assembly complex.

During a media briefing on Friday, Dr. Nwaeke alleged that Fubara ordered the attack to prevent his impeachment by lawmakers loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

He further claimed to have witnessed the handover of a bag of money to an individual named Edison for the operation, although he admitted to not knowing the exact amount inside.

Later that evening, Florence Nwaeke raised an alarm over her husband’s well-being, stating that the man she saw speaking in the interview was not her husband in his true state. She told reporters in a distressed plea that she had been unable to reach him since he left for Abuja.

“When he got to Abuja, he called to say he had landed. I thanked God for his safety,” she recounted. “The next thing I saw was people calling me, saying he had granted an interview. I was shocked—what interview? Interview for what?”

Florence described her growing fear as she attempted to contact him but received no response. “I sent him messages. I asked, ‘Are you under duress? Have they kidnapped you? Talk to me now. Why are you not talking to me?’” she cried. “His numbers are not going through. Nigerians, help me! My husband is in trouble.”

She further alleged that her husband resigned from his position due to intense pressure to sign documents that would implicate Governor Fubara.

“He resigned because they were forcing him to sign documents he did not want to sign. Instead of putting himself in more trouble, he decided to leave,” she said. “He wrote his resignation letter, but now, I fear for his life.”
