JOB PURPOSE

Drive the strategic vision, development, and market positioning of our products. This leadership position requires a dynamic individual with a unique blend of expertise in both product management and marketing. This role will be responsible for overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch, while concurrently developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility and drive market growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Strategy and Development

  • Develop and articulate a cohesive product strategy aligned with the overall company vision
  • Lead a cross-functional product team, including product managers and developers, to deliver innovative and high-quality products
  • Drive the product development process, from concept to release, ensuring products meet market needs and quality standards
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather input for product improvements and enhancements

Marketing Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that align with business objectives and enhance brand positioning
  • Oversee the creation of marketing campaigns, product launches, and promotional activities to drive awareness and demand
  • Utilise market research and customer insights to inform marketing strategies and optimize messaging
  • Build and maintain a strong brand identity, ensuring consistency across all marketing channels

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Foster a collaborative environment between product management, development, and marketing teams
  • Work closely with sales, customer success, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the product and marketing teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence

Performance Analysis and Optimization

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for both product and marketing functions, regularly monitoring and analyzing results
  • Use data-driven insights to optimize product features, marketing campaigns, and overall business performance
  • Implement continuous improvement processes to enhance product and marketing effectiveness

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry influencers
  • Act as a spokesperson for the company, representing our products and brand at industry events, conferences, and in media interactions

EDUCATION

  • Matric
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field
  • MBA advantageous

EXPERIENCE

  • 8+ years’ relevant experience
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role overseeing both product management and marketing functions
  • Strong background in product development, including a track record of successfully bringing products to market.
