“No, I do not believe that Washington is too lax around their allowance of people smoking in public spaces. However, I think that people are abusing their privilege to smoke in public places. There is a time and a place, and if we are more intentional with our decisions, our actions, and our behaviors, then this won’t even be a question.”
“In our population, there are people all over who are under 21, so I feel like Washington is being too lax in allowing people to smoke in public places because we don’t want the people who are not of age to gain that negative influence.”
“I do not think that Washington State is very lax. I mean, in certain places or corporations across Washington State, they don’t allow smoking on their property. However, I do feel because it’s a legalized drug, particular individuals feel like it’s not a problem and/or come to work smelling like it because they figure it’s not a problem. I think there probably should be a little stricter laws on when folks do smell like marijuana. I think it’s important for how we model what we want our institutions to look like when we have a legalized drug in there.”
“I think Washington should be more strict on the use of marijuana in public, only because it inhibits how you think and behave. I feel as though we, as a community, should do a better job of just being more conscious of how we behave in public.”
“I do think that Washington is lax on people smoking marijuana in public. I think that because I hang around a lot of people who actively smoke weed in public, in cars, outside of stores, walking around, driving—just all those things. So, it’s definitely a regular thing around town. I could be walking down a neighborhood, and me and some friends would smell it down the block, and I don’t smoke anymore, so every time I smell it, I know what it is and where it is.”
“I think they should be more lax about public smoking because, as long as it’s not fentanyl and it’s just marijuana or a regular cigarette, then it’s not going to be a problem.”
