Ruben Amorim‘s time at Old Trafford keeps highlighting how difficult a challenge he has ahead of him.
Manchester United have now had a run of three losses including being knocked out of the Carabao Cup 4-3 by Tottenham, a 3-0 loss at Old Trafford to Bournemouth and now a Boxing Day defeat by Wolves.
Unfortunately for Amorim, the squad will also be without their captain after Bruno Fernandes picked up two yellow cards against Wolves, converting to a sending off, making it his third red card of the season.
Between the morale, the poor performances and discipline issues, Amorim certainly has he work cut out, with centre-back Harry Maguire now speaking out about the new manager’s struggles.

Harry Maguire discusses The Red Devils’ struggles
Speaking to MUTV after the Match up with Wolves, Maguire commented: “I think it is really tough for the manager and his team coming in because it’s not like he has come in with a similar style to the old manager; they are the opposite of what they demand and what they want.
he continued: “It is probably tough for them because they know they want to work with the team on the training pitch and improve things, such as the defending principles and the set-play principles.
“It has been a tough month with games, but again, we do not want to use that as an excuse. This club demands winning and at the moment we are not.
“It is not good enough for ourselves, for the club and for the fans.”
Speaking about the set-piece blunders United have experienced recently, Maguire added: “I think when you’re in these moments you have got to stick with it and things will change.”
He continued: “I think the thing is with set-plays at the moment is that we’re not conceding chance after chance from them; it’s one header and a goal.
“The boy’s header for Bournemouth at the weekend was unbelievable. I know from myself that it was one of the hardest headers you can do, and you couldn’t do it again if you tried.
“The thing is, we have got to look at ourselves, we have got to improve and obviously two direct from a corner is something that we will look at and try and improve. But we will look at ourselves because they are deciding games and set-plays are so important in football now with teams targeting them.”
