Harrison Ford is all about showing love to his real-life sweetheart, Calista Flockhart. They tied the knot in 2010, but they’ve never shared the screen together. Interestingly, Harrison thinks it’s the off-camera stuff that matters most.
He gave a shout-out to his wife at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards on Jan. 14. He was there to accept his Career Achievement honor. “I want to thank my lovely wife,” he said, “who supports me when I need a lot of support. And trust me, I need a lot of support.”
Harrison, the star of the 1923 film, didn’t stop there. “I’m deeply happy to have had the opportunities that I’ve had,” he added, “and I’m grateful.”
The love story of Ford, 81, and Flockhart, 59, began at the 2002 Golden Globe Awards. Their first date was a bit unusual. It included a famous “third wheel,” James Marsden, her Ally McBeal co-star.
Marsden spilled the beans during a 2019 interview with James Corden. “She asked me after we wrapped if I would come along with her on this date,” he shared. “It was a new guy and we felt safe with each other.”
Might’ve been a bit awkward, right? But, it all turned out well. Ford and Flockhart are still going strong today. So, who’s to judge?
