Gunmen reportedly abducted two Chinese nationals at a mining site in Zango City on the outskirts of Lokoja, Kogi State, on Monday.
They also killed five security agents in the attack.
The dead victims were three members of a vigilante group and two staff of the mining site.
Eyewitnesses told journalists on Wednesday the attackers stormed the site in large numbers and went straight for the expatriates.
They also engaged the security operatives in a gun duel.
However, the spokesman for the state police command has not confirmed the incident at the time of filing this report.
