When developers release road maps for their games, they often mean what they say by their schedules are subject to change, and while that doesn’t happen as much for fighting games, sometimes they just need some extra time.

Arc System Works announced tonight that the next DLC character and stage release for Guilty Gear Strive Season 2 is receiving a minor delay from what they initially planned.

“Important Notice: The release of Additional Character #8 and Additional Stage #3, originally planned for March, will be delayed to early April in order to provide the best quality possible,” wrote ArcSys. “We apologize to everyone looking forward to the release. Thank you for your understanding.”

It wasn’t until the last Developer’s Backyard post in November that ArcSys revealed their Season 2 schedule for Strive once Sin Kiske arrived, which slated the next launch to come in March, but it looks like things have changed now.

Although we still don’t know the identity of the next Guilty Gear character to join the roster, they’ll probably be announced during the Arc World Tour 2022 Finals taking place March 11.

The delay of 3rd DLC fighter from March to April will also likely impact the rest of their plans for Season 2 and push back the last character out of May though ArcSys has not confirmed that to be the case yet.

There isn’t much more for us all to do but sit and wait and see what’s in store next for the game, as ArcSys is also preparing to launch Strive on Xbox sometime this Spring too.
