Fighting game crossovers with other video game genres are certainly nothing new in these waters, but this is probably one of the stranger / more unexpected collaborations in recent times.
Arc System Works recently announced that Guilty Gear Strive will be crossing over with one of the best games of 2023 — Dave the Diver with a bunch of exclusive content available apparently only on one system.
The Guilty Gear Strive Content Pack is shown to have a new “The Disaster of Passion” rhythm game featuring music from the fighting game and pixelated renditions of the characters though it’s not clear if it’ll go beyond just May’s theme.
There’s also shown to be Guilty Gear themed boat skins as well as using May’s giant anchor underwater to swing around and summon Mr. Totsugeki for good measure plus seemingly some more goodies.
Although Dave the Diver is also available on PC and soon to be PlayStation 4/5, it seems the Guilty Gear pack will only be releasing on the Nintendo Switch version, which is a bit odd considering Strive isn’t even on the Nintendo system.
Moreover, it sounds as though you can only get this and the digital art book with the physical version of Dave the Diver Anniversary Edition for $40 and is set to release on May 30, 2024.
You can check out the trailer showing off the Guilty Gear content inside the popular game below that’s also getting a free Godzilla DLC crossover in May too.
