A group, Anambra Man Of The Year (AMTY), has conferred various categories of awards to forty philanthropists in Anambra State.
The award ceremony took place at Stanel Dome in Awka, on Saturday.
The awardees includes, the former Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Prof Charles Okechukwu Esimone, Founder of Falcon Corporation Limited, Prof Joe Ezigbo, the South East Chairperson of Manaufacturer Association of Nigeria (MAN), lady Ada Chukwudozie, founder, Ide Global Movement, Chief Dr Azubuike Austin Ekweozor the Provost, Federal College of Education (Technical) Umunze, Prof Tessy Obumneme Okoli, Anambra State Correspondent of Arise Television, Mr. Emeka Monye, among others.
In his opening address, the founder of the group, Comrade Chinedu Okafor, said the awards has no political undertone but a recognition to people who have in one way or another contributed to human capital development in the state.

He noted the event has no political undertone.
According to him, the philanthropists were selected through an online voting by relevant stakeholders from Igbo extraction across the World. Also the group took the decision after tracked and critically analysis the awardee’s outstanding performance in positive transformation of their areas in both humans and infrastructural development.
“The prestigious honoured, being the fourth edition was designed as a away of showing appreciation to them for their continued contributions to the development of their communities, the people around them and the Nigeria society at large.
Comrade Okafor commended Engr Barth Nwibe for sponsoring the programme and the state governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo for ensuring a conducive environment before, during and after the event.
The awardees, in their separate remarks equally commended the organisers for finding them worthy of the recognition, noting that the honoured has spur them to do more.
The event was chair by Chief Dr Chike Obidigbo (Osisioma Igbo), an Investment Consultant.
