JOB PURPOSE/OBJECTIVES
To support operations in the management of financial and treasury systems and practices, ensuring financial information is timely, accurate, complete and compliant with relevant accounting and taxation principles.
REPORTING TO: Group CFO
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES
Supports the DRC, Angola and Senegal BU to achieve the following:
Oversee the Income Statements and Balance Sheets of the assigned BUs, including
performance against the annual plan, and work closely with the BU finance leadership teams in managing all associated financial and taxation risks, and in developing a ‘no-surprises’ culture when it comes to the financial performance and position of the BUs.
Assist the BUs in continually strengthening internal controls, and in addressing any particular control weaknesses identified by either Internal or External audit.
Chair the audit committee meetings of the BUs.
For each BU, ensure correct and accurate accounting, and adherence to group accounting policies.
For each BU, ensure that the monthly group financial reporting pack is complete, correct and submitted on-time.
For the annual external group audit, serve as the single point of contact between the primary/central team and the component/BU teams.
Assist the BU finance leadership teams in appraising significant operational investments, from
a finance and risk perspective, and ensure that all group requirements relating to such appraisals are adhered to.
Minimum requirements:
Qualified CA(SA), CIMA or ACCA only (no part-qualified)
3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience in a finance controlling role, preferably with a multi-national corporation
Must be a South African national or permanent resident
Some experience working in the above-mentioned countries will be advantageous
