The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America of the Patriarchate of Constantinople has established the National Hurricane Relief Fund to assist those affected by Hurricane Helene and the upcoming Hurricane Milton.
The fund will collect donations from parishes, organizations, and individuals, work with Metropolitan Alexios of Atlanta to assess and address needs in affected Greek Orthodox parishes, distribute funding to those in need, and offer emergency assistance of up to $2,500 to individuals (application process forthcoming), the Archdiocese reports.
Archbishop Elpidophoros of America has called for prayers for affected communities and urged the faithful to prepare to offer aid and resources. The Archdiocese will continue to assess damages and needs as the situation develops, particularly with Hurricane Milton approaching.
The Archdiocese requests that all funds be directed to www.goarch.org/donate/hurricane.
