The terror act of the state especially its capital city, Calabar will make anyone ruling to go to any extent even to declare state of emergency. But, well, is it making any difference?
On Saturday 9th July 2016, Cross River State governor, Prof Ben Ayade alongside heads of security agencies in the state embarked on “Operation Show Of Force” in Calabar in a bid to intimidate criminal elements who of recent, have held the state to ransom.
But before the incident, the governor made known clear during his speech at the Peace Park in Calabar that;
A list of the kingpins known to the state will be published and a ransom of 10 Million Naira will be placed on their heads.
Furthermore, Ayade warned the criminals to take their activities elsewhere as the state will be going after them.
