"Governor Ayade has Earned the Trust of Youths in CRS & beyond" —Nigeria Youth Congress

Nigeria Youth Congress (NYC) which is duly registered by Federal Ministry of Youth on Friday 1st July passed a vote of confidence on Sen. Ben Ayade and Dr. Betta Edu as they paid a courtesy call to the Director General of CRSPHCDA, Dr Edu in her office. The meeting was in response to her efforts in repositioning the primary healthcare system in the state since her assumption of office as Special Adviser first and then Director General in the newly created Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency.

Speaking, the leader of the delegation and Chairman of the NYC, CRS Chapter, Comrade Dan Obo said as youth leaders from across the LGAs in the state under this platform, one of their obligations is to identify with exemplary appointees of His Excellency, Prof Ben Ayade who can directly inspire young people and who are making the difference in their spheres. 

“We have heard, we have seen your marvelous work in the primary health care and we are here to compliment your effort while using this medium to inform you that Senator ( Prof) Ben Ayade is someone that has earned the respect of Nigerian youths. We will be willing to partner with you even as volunteers to steer up your good works in the state.

Also speaking, Comrade Edemawan Ita, the state women leader, Nigeria Youth Congress eulogized the DG and described her as someone who has tested the not too rosy waters of students unionism as Vice President, UNICAL Students Union Government. Her achievements as SUG VP and her impact to the people through her yearly medical health outreach is second to none. We are proud of you and pray you continue your good work in the state.

The DG, Dr. Betta Edu in her response thanked the organization for stopping by to identify with her programs and showing willingness to work with the agency to actualize her set goals. She adviced the youths that nothing should take the place of God in their lives, further stressing that hard work and volunteerism will distinguish them in all the do.

“We have been engaging the youths in our programs ranging from immunization exercises, free medical outreaches where we seek the services of young doctors and graduates of health technology as volunteers for the programs.  We are currently working on a project called “Clean up Calabar” with Hit FM.

According to her, the program is to compliment the effort of the State Environmental team by raising young volunteers to help clean and evacuate waste products in Calabar metropolis.  We will be willing to work with you for the actualization of the project.

Dr Edu was full of praises to the association for bestowing confidence and believing in Senator (Prof) Ben Ayade led administration. She assured them that the State Governor will not let the youths down.

Comrade Juliet Manyo on behalf of the youths reaffirmed their commitment to be part of her activities even at short notices, while praying that this government gets better by the day.
