The Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, has said the state governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has mapped out an agenda to position Anambra as the cultural and entertainment heartbeat of the South East region of Nigeria.
Mafor disclosed this while addressing members of Abatete Development Organisation (ADO), Abuja Branch, in Abuja, on Sunday November 30th, 2025.
He said the meeting marked his first appearance in months due to official duties in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
Speaking further, Mefor highlighted key developments in Anambra State under the leadership of Governor Soludo, including the exciting ‘Onwa Dezemba’ initiative, the governor’s historic 21/21 electoral victory in the just concluded November 8, 2025 governorship election in the state and the state’s ongoing commitment to security.

According to him, “the ‘Onwa Dezemba’ initiative is an ambitious project aimed at making Anambra’s December 2025 festivities rival Lagos’s popular Detty December. The goal is to position Anambra as the cultural and entertainment heartbeat of the South East.”
While speaking about the Governor’s victory, Mefor emphasised that Abatete Ward emerged number one statistically, in Idemili North LGA and proved to be All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA land.
“This unmatched feat was seen as a testament to the overwhelming support of Abatete people for the APGA-led government and their confidence in Soludo’s leadership,” he said.
On the issue of security, while urging his people to return home en mass for Christmas, the commissioner reassured the gathering of the Solution Government’s firm commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of Ndị Anambra throughout the festive season and beyond, adding that despite one or two isolated incidents, the state has enjoyed months of near-zero insecurity, and will continue be secure, stable and steadily rising under Soludo’s Government. “Indeed, Anambra is returning to its status as the safest state in Nigeria,” he insisted.
