The Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has approved the suspension of the Chairman of Machina local government area of the state, Idrissa Bukar-Machina.
Bukar-Machina was sworn in alongside chairmen of 16 other LGAs on June 10.
The Secretary to the State Government, Baba Mallam-Wali, who announced the development in a statement on Tuesday in Damaturu, said the chairman was suspended for misconduct.
He has been directed to hand over the affairs of the council to his deputy.
