According to a press release dated 6 June 2016 and signed by Christian Ita, the Special Adviser —Media and Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Cross River State, Governor Ben Ayade will today 7 June be inaugurating a Panel of Inquiry into Communal Clashes in some parts of the state especially the ones relating to the Nko and Mkpani in Yakurr Local Government Area and Oyadama and Iyamitet communities in Obubra Local Government Area.
The brief of the panel of inquiry is to 'investigate the remote and immediate causes of the conflicts with the view to finding lasting solutions to them', amongst other things.
Membership of the panel include:
1. His Excellency, Barr. Efiok Cobham, former Deputy Governor of the state — Chairman
2. Chief Igbaji Monkom —Member
3. Mr. Jude Ngaji – State Security Adviser —Member
4. Chief Asuquo Ekpenyong — Member
5. Rev. (Mrs.) Grace Ekanem — Member
6. HRH Etiyin Etim Okon Edet- Chairman Traditional Rulers’ Council— Member
7. Representative of the Commissioner of Police —Member
8. Representative of the State Director, Department of State Services —Member
9. Barr. Mike Ukpan Aniah — Secretary.
The inauguration will take place by 10am at the state Chambers of the Executive Council, Governor's Office. Below is the original press release statement:

His Excellency, Prof. Ben Ayade will on Tuesday May 7, 2016 at the State Executive Council Chambers, inaugurate the panel of enquiry into communal crises in some parts of the state especially the ones between Nko and Mkpani in Yakurr Local Government Area and Oyadama and Iyamitet communities in Obubra Local Government Area at 10 am.
The Panel is to amongst other things investigate the remote and immediate causes of the conflicts with the view to finding lasting solutions to them.
Members of the panel as earlier approved by His Excellency, Prof. Ben Ayade are:
