Nigeria U23 are into the semi-finals of the Olympics for the first time since 2008 where they will face Germany U23. They were given a stern test by Denmark U23 and however, the Dream Team will likely need to continue stronger against the Germans if they are to threaten final stages. Thanks to two goals from John Mikel Obi and Aminu Umar either side of the halves each.

The skipper converted Imoh Ezekiel’s pass at the 15th minutes of play before teeing up Umar who made no mistake to pounce home from the box after the Danish defence failed to clear their lines.
The win means the Dream will face Germany U23who thumped Portugal U23 in the earlier game of the day.
