FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Savage Freedoms Relief Operations launches a holiday gift drive to deliver hope and cheer to Western NC families recovering from the storm.
CONOVER, NC., (November, 2024) – Do you remember, as a child, writing to Santa and asking for a toy that you really wanted to have— then opening up Santa’s present and getting exactly what you wanted? Now, imagine that feeling multiplied infinitely by children who have lost their homes and toys in a hurricane disaster that hit Western North Carolina earlier this year.
As the holiday season quickly approaches, you have the opportunity to be Santa and bring the joy of Christmas morning to countless children still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Helene. Savage Freedoms Relief Operations or Savage Ops for short, is calling on the public’s generous spirit to participate in their special initiative by donating new toys and pajamas and helping spread Christmas smiles to these children.
Savage Ops makes being Santa as easy as clicking your mouse, going to their website and selecting one of the desired gifts requested by a child from the Savage Santa’s Nice List on their website and purchasing their chosen gifts. If any of the gift requests may look or sound steep, those who still want to help may donate money or volunteer as one of Santa’s helpers wrapping and sorting through gifts.
Being at the forefront of relief efforts in the region, Savage Ops, in cooperation with other organizations, such as Operation Providing Hope and Saint Nicholas Christmas Foundations. They aim to bring hope and make this special time of the year a little brighter for the children of Western North Carolina by helping families celebrate Christmas holidays.

Hurricane Helene, which struck the area this fall, left a trail of destruction in its wake, causing severe flooding, property damage, and disrupting daily life for countless families. In particular, children in affected communities have faced hardships, losing not only their homes, and personal belongings, but also the sense of stability and joy that the Yuletide holidays usually brings.
More than the physical damage from the hurricane, Savage Ops aims to help soothe the emotional impact brought on by the holidays by ensuring that every child in their community feels the warmth and love that Christmas represents. By collaborating with local communities and nonprofits, the relief organization is working closely with caseworkers and community leaders to make sure no child in the affected areas is overlooked. Savage Ops promises that every gift is delivered and the donations are used to buy the presents the children wished for.
