It seems we’re about a month away from getting the next Mortal Kombat 1 DLC character as NetherRealm Studios has released the official teaser trailer for Ghostface.
While we don’t get any actual gameplay footage of the Scream antagonist in action, we are treated to what appear to be a handful of alternate masks players will be able to customize the character with. On top of that, NRS has announced Ghostface will be available for early access on November 19.
If Mortal Kombat 1 developers follow the same schedule for previous DLC releases, Ghostface will become available to the public on Tuesday, November 26, one week after his early access date.
We’ve rounded up a gallery of most of the alternate masks shown off in the less than 30 second spot. One looks a lot like Scorpion’s iconic yellow face wear, while another looks a lot like a T-800 Terminator (though it could also be a reference to Jason X).
Another looks almost like a gunnysack material, reminiscent of scarecrows or perhaps a patching together of human skin a la what one might see in Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Evil Dead films.
NetherRealm Studios was also sure to showcase a correction made since the last time we saw a Ghostface showcase. One of the character’s Fatality animations concludes with two Ghostfaces cleaning their blades in unison, but had some fairly obvious visual mistakes when it was first shown.
Said mistakes all appear to have been corrected, making for yet another one of NetherRealm Studios’ usual top notch presentations. You can see some of the alternate costume accessories in the freeze frames via the gallery here, and can watch the full teaser below.

To access Ghostface you’ll need to have either purchased the Khaos Reigns bundle, which includes all six Kombat Pack 2 DLC characters (Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, T-1000, and Conan the Barbarian) or purchase him seperately for $7.99 USD.
