New DLC pack is entitled ‘Khaos Reigns’
NetherRealm Studios held their special Mortal Kombat 1 panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2024 today in which they discussed what’s coming next for the game. Those in attendance were able to catch all of the action, but unfortunately, this panel was not live streamed for viewers at home.
During the panel, NRS announced that Ghostface from the Scream series, Conan the Barbarian, the T-1000 from Terminator 2, Noob Saibot, Sektor, and Cyax are being added to the game as DLC characters in Kombat Pack 2.
NetherRealm Studios also revealed that the next expansion for Mortal Kombat 1 will be called “Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns.” This appears to be a similar naming convention to Mortal Kombat 11 when the Aftermath update was released.
According to Twitter user Braddy___ who is currently in attendance at the panel, Sektor and Cyrax are now female here in Mortal Kombat 1. Kaiji Tang has been confirmed as the voice of Noob Saibot, who has also been confirmed to be Bi-Han in-game.
IGN is also at the panel right now, and we have also learned through them that Sektor is a human in Mortal Kombat 1, not a robot. This has been confirmed by voice actress Erika Ishii on the panel.
More reports from Braddy___ detail a scene from the cinematic story expansion also expected to come to Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns. According to the attendee, the trailer starts out with an invisible Sektor in the trees.
Cyrax can be seen running from Sektor, and it has also been reported that Sektor is Cyrax’s mentor here in Mortal Kombat 1.

This time around, Mortal Kombat 1’s second set of DLC characters will feature three guests once again. From the looks of it, there will be six main roster DLC fighters just like we saw with Kombat Pack 1, and three guests like we saw in Homelander, Peacemaker, and Omni-Man.
Ghostface is a slasher film icon from the Scream series, making his debut back in 1996. This Horror movie killer torments his victims with threatening phone calls and taunts, and his weapon of choice is a large hunting knife.
Based on Robert E. Howard’s Conan, this version of Conan the Barbarian looks to be pulled from the classic 1982 film. The powerful warrior was played back then by Arnold Schwarzenegger, and based on the official artwork for the upcoming DLC characters it appears that Mortal Kombat 1’s version of the fighter is based on Arnold’s interpretation.
The T-1000 Advanced Prototype is a more sophisticated Terminator that made his debut back in Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991). This relentless killing machine was portrayed by actor Robert Patrick, and it appears Patrick will be reprising his role for MK1.
Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns is also gearing up to bring back a classic finisher type that we haven’t seen in a long time. Animalities have been revealed and will be in the upcoming DLC.

As far as the Animalities we know so far, TheThiny on Twitter reports that Mileena will be a mantis, Scorpion will be a scorpion, Raiden an electric eel, Quan Chi an ancient dinosaur, and Rain a puffer fish.
NetherRealm also revealed a behind-the-scenes look at Rain’s new Animality, as well as the finished product.
