While the winger has yet to fully establish himself as a consistent first-team regular, his potential has made him a favorite among fans and a vital piece of the club’s future.
This has made the rumors of a swap deal with Chelsea particularly controversial.
Chelsea’s interest stems from their desire to revamp their attacking lineup, with Garnacho viewed as a long-term investment.
The proposed swap deal would bring Christopher Nkunku to Old Trafford, a player who arrived at Stamford Bridge with great expectations but has struggled to find form following an injury-plagued start to his time in England.
The prospect of such a trade has sparked debates across the footballing world.
Reports from Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg suggest that both clubs are seriously considering the arrangement, though no final decision has been reached.
United has reportedly asked to be kept in the loop regarding any developments involving Nkunku.

Amid the speculation, former United captain Gary Neville has publicly criticized the potential deal, questioning its benefit for his old club.
Speaking on NBC Sport, Neville was blunt in his assessment, emphasizing that the move would likely favor Chelsea far more than United.
“I don’t get it for United,” Neville began.
“Nkunku’s hardly kicked a ball. He’s had the injury when he first came and struggled to get going at Chelsea.”
Neville further added, “I’m not saying Garnacho is the best player in the world.
“He needs to stay at Manchester United.
“But if they get good money for him, that might work.
“To swap him for Nkunku, though, isn’t a move I would do if I was Manchester United.”
For Chelsea, the move could be seen as a step toward resolving their issues in attack.
Garnacho’s dynamism and flair would provide a much-needed spark, but for United, Neville believes the deal represents more risk than reward.
Napoli has also entered the race for Garnacho, but their sporting director recently confirmed they would not meet United’s reported £60m asking price.
With the transfer deadline looming, United faces a defining moment in shaping their squad’s future, and decisions like these could leave lasting implications.
