Gamescom Opening Night live stream starting at 11 am PT

We’re on the verge of Gamecom 2024 and to kick things off Geoff Keighley and his team are bringing us Opening Night Live from Cologne, Germany. We’re on the lookout for fighting game news and reveals during the exciting pre-show, specifically when it comes to a certain new character en route to Street Fighter 6.

You can watch the action play out live right along with us by checking out the embedded live stream below, thanks to The Game Awards.

The character in question is none other than SNK’s Terry Bogard, whose playable demo we know will be available at Gamescom this week. If you’re thinking it’s not likely Capcom will let people start playing the character before releasing the gameplay trailer, you’re right.

It’s during Opening Night Live that we heavily suspect Capcom will reveal Terry Bogard’s Street Fighter 6 gameplay trailer and thus finally shed light on how the first ever non-Capcom guest character will function in a Street Fighter game.

Ever since Terry was revealed alongside Mai Shiranui and Elena for Season 2 of SF6 the community has been speculating as to how developers will translate the King of Fighters/Fatal Fury characters and their game/franchise-specific mechanics over into Street Fighter.

We’ll eagerly be awaiting any and all information on this front if and when we get our trailer today, but will also be monitoring for the findings of those who get to test out the Terry demo on the Gamescom floor in the coming days.

For now watch the live stream unfold along with us via the embed here, and share your hopes for Terry in SF6 in the comments while we wait.
