Gameplay for Spider-Man's Electro shown in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 mod, Street Fighter's Yun teased

The modding community for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 continues to push forward new fan-made content for the nearly 13-year-old game and shows no signs of stopping anytime soon.

There’s apparently a few more new updates on the horizon that may catch the eye of fighting game fans for mods of Spider-Man’s Electro and Street Fighter’s Yun.

Chimichangar, who previously made a custom character for Fantastic Four’s The Thing, showed off some gameplay for Electro with some apparent help from another modder in Voltaic.

Electro is of course not to be confused with Shocker, who also recently received a UMvC3 mod alongside Darkstalkers’ Jon Talbain.

For the Spider-Man villain, they showed off an interesting looking electric projectile that bounces along the ground though there’s obviously quite a bit more work to be done before he’s ready for the public.

His animations still apparently need to be finished, and Chimichangar says he’s going to provide the voice over work for Electro himself on top of everything else.

We also apparently have a newer face to the scene with Archer showing off a teaser for Yun that’s garnered some attention online already despite being just a picture.

Archer says not to expect Yun to be publicly available any time soon, but they should be posting updates in the future and footage when some normal attacks are done.

It looks like Yun’s probably going to be based on his Street Fighter 4 incarnation unsurprisingly, so we can just imagine the Genei Jin loops already.

For what else is coming to the game thanks to the fans, the collaborative Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Community Edition mod is still in the works as well to add a bunch of other custom fighters to the game like Devil May Cry’s Nero and God Hand’s Gene.

In other modding developments, however, Tekken 8 videos featuring mods appear to be getting hit with copyright strikes and facing potential YouTube account deletion.

Things have continued to be pretty smooth on the MvC modding front it seems, so let’s all hope it stays that way.

Marvel Rivals was also just announced, which helped to show once again that the soul of Marvel vs. Capcom still burns in the FGC.
