The first Premier League fixture set to use this technology will be Manchester City vs Crystal Palace on the Saturday early kick-off.
Newcastle United vs. Manchester United at St. James’ Park on Sunday, April 13th, will be the first time United fans will see the rule in play for themselves.
Semi-automated offside technology is designed to improve the speed, accuracy, and consistency of offside decision-making.
As well as to assist the video assistant referee (VAR) in key moments.
The system automates the placement of the virtual offside line using optical player tracking.

Thus, significantly reducing the time taken to reach decisions.
It generates enhanced virtual graphics to provide greater clarity for both fans in the stadium and television broadcasts.
