Evo Japan 2024 is officially underway and folks from all over the globe are in attendance and ready for an action-packed weekend of fighting game fun. While there will undoubtedly be some incredible competition across the multitude of games on this year’s line up, viewers can also likely look forward to several major announcements from some of the best fighting game developers in the business.
Arc System Works is in attendance at the event and so is Guilty Gear Strive, and from the looks of it there’s a good chance we’ll be seeing the game’s next and final Season 3 DLC character unveiled. The official Guilty Gear Twitter account tweeted out a photo from the Evo Japan 2024 show floor showing a cardboard standee at the Guilty Gear booth that now provides the full look at the silhouette for the next Season 3 DLC character — and we’re fairly certain we know who it is.
At the Arc World Tour Finals last month, ArcSys shared a teaser for this final Season 3 character. A small, blurred portion of the silhouette was shown on stream, and fans were quick to decipher the small bats floating around the head of the fighter.
Those who have been following Guilty Gear for a while know that bats that look like that generally belong to Guilty Gear’s resident vampire, Slayer. These small bats often find themselves within his special move effects, so fans were quick to discern the identity of the next fighter thanks to Arc System Work’s initial teaser.
This weekend, however, ArcSys has revealed the full silhouette, and if you weren’t sure it was Slayer previously… you might be convinced now. We can now see that the next fighter is a tall, slender combatant with spiky hair and what looks to be a suit and a coat on.
Of course, the aforementioned bats are also in plain view here, and based on the new image they certainly do appear to be Slayer’s bats. We can also clearly see that the silhouette is holding a pipe in their hand, which is another defining trait of the Guilty Gear vampire.
Yeah, unless Arc System Works is really trying to throw fans off here, the silhouette very, very likely belongs to Slayer. And based on the advertising here and the May release window, it is also very likely that we’ll see Slayer revealed this weekend at Evo Japan 2024.

ArcSys is being extremely forward with this silhouette by basically confirming Slayer’s identity before the big reveal, and while that may seem odd, there might be good reason for it. Back at the Arc World Tour Finals, the company also announced that a Season 4 for Guilty Gear Strive is currently in development, so there’s also a chance we’ll see something from the next season of DLC announced this weekend too — though there’s no confirmation on that just yet.
