The Zamfara Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has handed over the sum of N630,750 recovered from a road accident scene to the victims’ relative.
The accident, caused by wrongful overtaking and overspeeding, occurred on November 21, 2024, at Tazame village along the Gusau-Funtua route.
The command’s public education unit head, Aliyu Kankara, said in a statement that the FRSC Rescue Team responded to a distress call and evacuated the injured to the Federal Medical Centre in Gusau.
According to him, the accident “involved a white bus with registration number ABJ758XB and a Volkswagen Golf without registration plates.”
“Among the items recovered at the scene were three Tecno keypad phones, two Android smartphones, and cash amounting to N630,750, which were subsequently handed over to the victims’ relative.”
The Zamfara Sector Commander, CC Tijjani Iliyasu, urged drivers to always adhere to traffic rules and avoid overspeeding, overloading, and dangerous overtaking.
