Marvel vs. Capcom is one of the most storied (and kinda infamous) series in the fighting game community with over three decades of history to explore.
So it should come as little surprise that Marvel vs. Capcom 3 has its own legacy of myths and legends.
Khanage recently released a cool new video digging into more than a decade of MvC3 rumors, supposed leaks, and myths.
Some of them aren’t even all that old with the first rumor he looks at being the supposed Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 port to the Nintendo Switch from 2018.
The alleged footage looked real enough at first glance, but Khanage details how it was proven to just be a fake.
But then going back further in time, there was the rumors circulating around a potential Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Uncanny Edition with new characters and changes, which obviously never came to fruition.
Much of the time is dedicated to the supposed and real leaks surrounding the game’s vanilla release including seemingly random people online sharing details that would be surprisingly accurate like Akuma and Taskmaster not only being in the game but also as unlockable characters.
Khanage goes over the infamous official website leaks that suggested characters like Elektra were planned for the roster and why Frank West was initially cut from vanilla.
And the most recent discoveries of Doctor Octopus and other cut content from the beta build of MvC3 uncovered in 2023 are featured too.
Outside of MvC3, we’ve also been covering the re-discovery of a secret Marvel vs. Capcom website from the ’90s that held plenty of development secrets and interesting stories that’s provided a wealth of new information.
You should give Khanage’s new video a watch below.
