New information has been revealed on Manchester United’s transfer saga with Everton over Jarrad Branthwaite.
United approached the Toffees multiple times in the summer and offered up to £50million for his talents.
However, their negotiations were to no avail, as Everton stood firm on their £70m valuation of the centre back.
Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans’ contracts expire at the end of the season, while the club have the option to extend Harry Maguire’s deal until 2026.
With the uncertainty surrounding these players’ futures, United are still keen on a move for Jarrad Branthwaite, according to Mail Sport.

United consider the situation to be urgent, as they are aware that other clubs are also in the race to sign the 22-year-old.
Internal talks have been held on how to best approach Everton again, however the club recognise that they are in a tough spot financially.
It is believed that Ruben Amorim will have less of a budget to work with than his predecessor Erik ten Hag, and that players will have to be sold to sanction a move for Branthwaite.
These funds could come from the sale of Antony, who has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford in January.

Dan Ashworth is thought to be spearheading the negotiations to sign Branthwaite, who has refused to sign a new contract with Everton amid the lingering interest from top clubs.
Sean Dyche recently admitted that he would be powerless in the instance that his star man decided to leave.
‘Bids for players will not be anything to do with me. You know, or can imagine, the financial situation here,’ he said.
‘We have already had to sell players here I didn’t want to. That is just part of the current business of the club.
‘The current decision would be that it is likely if somebody offers enough money for any player – then they go.’
