French champions Paris St Germain are set for life without their mega superstar Kylian Mbappe who is set to leave Paris at the end of the season.
As far as forwards go, few come close to Mbappe in terms of player profile as Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford.
Both are as silky and direct as can be and as such, PSG were eyeing the Englishman as a potential replacement for outgoing Mbappe.
Mirrorsport just last month reported the French Champions were plotting a 75 million pound move for Rashford.
It is already on record that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is a great admirer of the forward previously hailing him as ‘sensational’.
“He’s another player that is really amazing,” said Al-Khelaifi back in 2022.
“And for free? To have Rashford for free, every club would run after him, definitely.”
This was before Rashford signed a new 350,000 pound a week deal last year that keeps him at Old Trafford until at least 2028.
Getting him for free in that regard becomes impossible until then so the only choice for Nasser and PSG remain testing United’s resolve with that reported £75million bid.
“United could be tempted by such an offer – although they value Rashford closer to £100m – particularly against the backdrop of such stringent financial fair play regulations, which have restricted their spending in the transfer market,” the mirror sport report read.
With the looming rebuild at Old Trafford under new management in Sir Jim and his INEOS contingent, it will be interesting to see if they will be willing to listen to this and any other offers for their English superstar especially with the numerous departures expected.
